Purpose:
To
create events to unify and strengthen the Iranian-American community in Seattle.
Responsibilities:
Plan a Norooz Event
Plan the Summer Iranian Cultural Festival (the biggest Persian event of the year)
Assist with other cultural organizations (such as Persian Circle) with cultural events
Work with the fundraising committee to create great fundraising events
Accomplishments:
June 30, 2007: Hosted the first-ever Iranian Festival in Seattle, gathering an estimated 2,000 people of all ages and backgrounds for music, dance, children's activities, tea, food, film, and fun. Special thank yous to all of the festival sponsors and to the Festival Organizing Committee!
April 2007: Hosted a picnic for Sizdeh Bedar, gathering an estimated 250 people to celebrate this 13th day after the Persian New Year.
