Negin Almassi grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and has called Seattle her home for more than five years. She works as Cultural Competence Manager at Senior Services of King County, leading the organization's efforts to undo institutional racism and build cultural competence so as to better serve people of color, immigrants and refugees, and LGBT elders. Prior to that, Negin ran the Asian Pacific Islander Community Leadership Foundation (ACLF), a nonprofit organization that trains and mentors emerging leaders in the Asian and Pacific Islander community of greater Seattle. In her spare time, Negin enjoys dancing, hiking, classical Persian music, and spending time with her loved ones. She holds a Master in Public Administration from the UW Evans School of Public Affairs. Negin currently serves as the board co-chair of the Iranian American Community Alliance and the committee co-chair of the Civic Action Committee.
