The Iranian American Community Alliance is an all-volunteer organization. Board members make a two-year commitment of service. We are looking for committed, thoughtful, team-oriented people who are passionate about Iranian culture and serving the community.
Many of IACA’s board members have never served on a nonprofit board of directors before. As a grassroots, community-based organization, we expect board members to help plan events, network in the community, and mentor each other. We are college students, small business owners, employees in the private and nonprofit sectors. We range in age from 22 to 55. Some of us grew up in the United States, others of us in Iran. The board is diverse in terms of religious background, ethnicity, and mother language.
If you are interested in becoming a board member, please contact Ali Ghambari. Most people first serve as a volunteer for three to six months in order to assess whether the organization is a good match, before applying to become a board member. Elections happen at the end of the year and board members serve two-year terms. Most board members spend at least 10 to 15 hours per month on IACA responsibilities.
