Shima Houshyar

Shima is excited to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Iranian American Community Alliance as of January 2011! She has earned a B.A. from the University of Washington in Political Science and French, and plans to continue her studies at the graduate level in the near future. Born in Iran, Shima moved to the United States at the age of 15 and has deep roots of identification with both countries, cultures, and histories.  As a self-identified Iranian American, Shima is eager to build bridges across the two communities and to educate both herself and others about the rich culture of Iran and the lives of Iranians and Iranian Americans.
